Omicron is a permanent installation directed by Romain Tardy and Thomas Vaquie. This 3D projection was created for the new museum of architecture of Hala Stulecia, in Wroclaw, Poland. The idea behind Omicron was to create a link between the history of the building and the present times by transforming the massive structure into a living piece. The impressive projection was projected onto the 65 m diameter dome the largest reinforced concrete structure in the world. The idea was to take a minimalistic approach to the design using every piece of the structure itself . The lighting effects and music give it a futuristic feel almost electronic and alien. It gave the structure life without to much overcrowded imagery and thus creating a marvelous projection. Its a projection mapping with a twist. The 3D projection is on a miniature model of the city of Tokyo at a 1:1000 scale which users that visit at their website can manipulate and experiment on their own. Users can experiment different motifs of the city : "Futuristic City", "Rock City" and tradition Japanese "Beauty of Nature" by pressing the keys on the keyboard .It's an exciting and dynamic projection that makes use of great colors, that expresses the identity of the city itself. The team of YesYesNo teamed up with The Church to create a fantastic interactive installation that was projected onto the Auckland Ferry Building. This projection is different from ordinary building projections as it allows the people to become the protagonist of the projection itself. There were 3 different types of interaction: 1. Body interaction on the two stages, 2. Hand interaction above a light table and 3. Phone interaction with the tracking of waving phones. There were also 6 scenes that cycled every hour for the public. As an interactive projection I believe it was brilliant, it had great color and created emotion throughout the viewers. It was very user friendly and was able to communicate to all of the audience. |
